Kitchener Waterloo Family Portraits. West Montrose covered bridge

I've done a few sessions at the West Montrose Kissing Bridge, but never one quite like this.  The weather was... well, questionable most the day.  Melanie and I talked on the phone about what we should do and the forecast changed for the better as we spoke.  And it turned out that the sun came out, the winds calmed and it was truly beautiful light for a family session.  This family is funny, spunky (ahem Miss L), kind and really wonderful to work with.

Melanie and Mike, it was so lovely to meet you and your 2 kiddos.  I really had a great time running around and getting to know each of you a little better.  Please enjoy a few of my faves from the session.

Kitchener Newborn Photographer. Where miracles happen

When I arrive at my clients' home for their newborn session, I take a quick peek around to find the best possible light for the session. I've worked in family rooms, kitchens and even hallways - It's all about the light. But once in a while I find the best spot in the bedroom. And for this family, it meant even more because that's where little W was born. Right at home with dad and family and their midwife bringing him into the world. And mom - well she rocked it! So this session was special to them. W was fussy and awake and not feeling it when I first arrived, but with a little patients and some cuddles and feeding, he settled and we went to work. These are some of my very favourite newborn images.

Nick and Shana, thank you for welcoming me into your home. Your family is amazing and kind and I loved working with you. Please enjoy a few of my favourites from your session.

Muskoka Family Photographer. Rain, Lakes and Docks

I hear the rain hitting the deck, the trees, the lake. Together we sit inside the cottage, watching movies, playing cards and quickly dashing out to the dock when there is a break in the rain. It wasn't exactly the best weather for a few days at the cottage, but you can't beat the R&R you get from a little escape. We knew the weather would be questionable, but made the most of it. Our first evening we had sunshine and clouds and an amazingly calm lake. We jammed all the water activities into that one afternoon and it was wonderful. Can't thank our family enough for the invite and the memories.

All these images were captured using VSCOcam for my android phone.  Enjoy

Kitchener Waterloo Family Portraits. Deer, Smiles and Frames

I loved this location along Woolner Trail on the Grand River in Kitchener. When you see 2 white tail deer during the session, you know you've got a great spot. And little 9 month old L was so great to work with. He was a tough cookie to crack and it took some silly dancing and singing to get this guy to smile. Once we did that, he didn't stop smiling and this family laughed and laughed. These are the type of sessions that drive me to do more. More for my clients and more within my craft.

Natasha and Brad, it was so wonderful to see you and work with you again. I am looking forward to seeing your canvas and frames on the wall. It will look amazing. Please enjoy a few of my faves from the session.
