Congratulations Carol and Jeff - A Foxoboro Green Wedding

"Happiness is marrying your best friend." ~ unknown

Their guests slowly headed down the aisle with a rock in their hands to greet Carol and Jeff.  As they passed their stones onto the bride and groom, they shared a story to go with it:  a history about the rock, or themselves or a future for the happy couple.  Some guests gave words of encouragement, some advice, but all had lovely and creative thoughts for Carol and Jeff's future.  One guest who picked up his rock along the shores of Lake Superior told the bride and groom to always feel superior together, yet never feel superior to one another.

Jeff and Carol, thank you so much for inviting me to be part of your day.  Your ceremony and reception were amazing and despite the threat of rain and thunderstorms, it couldn't have been a better day! I want to wish you an amazing future together!  Please enjoy a few of my favourites from your big day!

Elmira Children's Photographer - "She never quite leaves her children at home, even when she doesn't take them along. -Margaret Culkin Banning

I came across this and had to post it for all my moms out there.  It's so true, yet so funny.  And nice to know we all go through the same things!

Enjoy and happy Thursday everyone!

Elmira Children's Photographer - First Birthday Party

"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true" ~ Lyman Frank Baum

My cute little neice turned one last week and when my sister held her party on the weekend, I brought my camera along.

Great job with the rainbow theme Cindy!  Here are a few of my faves from Josie's rainbow party.

Breslau children's photography - First Birthday Party

"Celebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain." -Dave Matthews

What to do when you baby girl is turning one?  Brianne wanted to celebrate, and celebrate in the most amazing way.  She invited all the people who have made an impact on her little girl's life.  Her friends and family were all there to share in little W's party.

Brianne put a lot of thought and care into the party.  From the bubble favours to the water bottle labels, from the cupcake display to the bouncy castle.  She made an effort to showcase her little girl! And with guests and her two little girls to entertain, she knew she wouldn't have the time to capture this wonderful celebration.  Not the way she wanted to remember it.

Brianne, thank you so much for inviting me to document W's party.  It was so much fun!  I am constantly amazed by all the things you do! Wonderful job.  I hope I was able to showcase all your hard work!

Waterloo, Ontario Engagement Session: Waterloo Park

“There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.” ~ Sarah Dessen, The Truth About Forever

They were set up.  And although their friends tried to describe it as "just a group of us going out, for some fun", they both knew the truth.  Leslie's plans for that evening were to avoid and ignore this guy she was supposed to meet.  But Matthew, knew better.  They were going to a bar, somewhere he never goes, but something told him he should go meet this girl.  They bonded over hats and books and the fact that their friends were really bad liars.  Now as they are preparing to be married this fall, he's so glad he went and she's so glad she didn't ignore him.

Thanks for the fun evening, you two.  I had a great time wandering the park for your engagement session.  Can't wait for your October wedding!!

Elmira Children's Photographer - West Montrose covered bridge photography

Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine.  ~Anthony J. D'Angelo, The College Blue Book

Every year in June or July, I meet up with Amie and Pieter.  It always seems to be one of the hottest days of the year and I secretly wish we were having ice cream during the shoot.  This year was no exception.  With temps and humidex soaring over 40 C (over 110 F for our neighbours to the south) for most of the week, it was a hot photoshoot.  But Amie and Pieter are always so amazing to photograph.  They laugh, they play with little A and they allow her and I to have some amazing photo time, just the two of us.  It makes for some spectacular images.  Each year little A seems so different, yet so much the same.  Her cute shoes, adorable blonde hair and special touches: this year it was the rose in her hair and her curls.  It's something amazing that Amie and Pieter can hold onto as she grows up, and something she can share with her own kids some day.

Amie and Pieter, I had so much fun shooting with you and your little beauty again this year.  She was awesome and fun and so adorable.  Can't wait to meet your newest addition in the fall!  Please enjoy a few of my favourites.

Elmira Photographer. Glamour Photography

"Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~Confucius

She'd been at home with her baby for the past year.  night feeds, diaper changes and nap schedules.  She had worked hard.  Very hard.  It isn't bon bons and soap operas when you are at home for your baby's first year. She deserved some time.  An afternoon to herself to get pampered and treated like a woman again.  Not just a mom.  So I decided to surprise my sister.  A make-over and glamour photo shoot.  I told her I had a portrait session (not a lie) and that I needed her to baby-sit my 3 kiddos (a complete lie - in fact, my husband was watching her little one for the afternoon)  She came over and kept asking about my session.  Who was it for? Where was it? What time did I have to leave?  I carefully dodged her questions until her friend and hairstylist showed up.  That's when we revealed the big secret. "Surprise, you are my photo shoot!"

Cindy, I had so much fun with your shoot...you looked amazing!  Hope you enjoyed your time!

Amazing hair by Andrea Potvin and beautiful makeup by Jenn Eades.  Thanks girls for helping pull off this surprise.
