A Girl's best friend

Ashley has been through a lot with WoJo during his short life.  Vet visits, surgeries and typical retriever hi-jinx.  When she contacted me about doing photos, we actually had to do post-pone the session since WoJo had recently had a procedure and needed to grow back some missing fur.  Well he's beautiful in these photos - and healthy.  Enjoy!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Ok...so I must apologize again for the lack of posts lately.  This is one of the busiest times of the year for me - aside from the height of wedding season.  I get tons of inquiries about family photos before Christmas.  This year seemed especially busy, whether it was because my business is really growing (lets hope), or because December really snuck up on people.  That was definitely my problem; no snow or any family events.  Before I knew it, it was December and I hadn't started any shopping or really even thought about it. So enough about my lack of seasonal preparations.  Onto the photos - here are some of my favourite last minute photo shoppers.  Enjoy!

Full of Joy - full of beans

I recently took an online course on children's photography.  It was 3 days with one of the most celebrated children's photographers - Tamara Lackey (tamaralackey.com).  The course was presented through Creative Live (http://creativelive.com).  An innovative, amazing company dedicated to "...work with the very best instructors who want to share their knowledge and creative expertise with the world."  So naturally I was excited and since I'd been shooting a ton of family and children's portraits - really interested to learn.

It was, in fact, the 3rd day of the course that I had already booked a photo session with a young family.  I was itching to try out some of the new things I had learned.  Wesley was a typical 1 year old, a little shy of someone new, but energetic and fun.  And really only interested in the toys.  I used a lot of the information that I had learned over the weekend and here are a few of my favourites.
