Well...it's that time of year again. As the cold weather approaches, I start thinking about Christmas. For the past 3 years I've been offering my Christmas Card Special. This year is a bit different. My niece was recently diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome (AS). It is a very rare (estimated 1 in 15 000) neurogenetic disorder characterized by a severe global developmental delay. People with AS or “Angels” have little or no verbal skills, poor gross and fine motor skills, and possible seizure and sleep disorders. However, Angels do have a unique characteristic – they have a happy, pleasant demeanor with a wonderful smile and contagious laughter.
