Angels at Christmas

Well...it's that time of year again.  As the cold weather approaches, I start thinking about Christmas.  For the past 3 years I've been offering my Christmas Card Special.  Order custom Christmas cards to send to your friends and family with a photo and custom message and get a free photo shoot and 5X7 print of your favourite shot.  Please email me at info@greenapplephotography.ca for more details.  It's been a huge success.  Most of my clients will agree that the best part is my husband's home-made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.

This year is a bit different.  My niece was recently diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome (AS).  It is a very rare (estimated 1 in 15 000) neurogenetic disorder characterized by a severe global developmental delay. People with AS or “Angels” have little or no verbal skills, poor gross and fine motor skills, and possible seizure and sleep disorders. However, Angels do have a unique characteristic – they have a happy, pleasant demeanor with a wonderful smile and contagious laughter.

This year I will be offering a discount to those of you who are generous enough to make a donation to Kate's Kause (A charitable foundation that has been founded in her honour)  during our Christmas Card weekend October 16th and 17th.   Please visit www.kateskause.com for more information on our projects.

This is one of our first fundraising efforts.  Lets make it a huge success!!

Elegance

I've known the bride for almost 23 years.  We grew up together.  I can honestly say that I've never seen her look more beautiful and elegant.  She stood in her parents' garden, fiddling with her bouquet.  I was busy snapping photos of the wedding party.  Luckily my husband - my assistant and talented 2nd photographer - got the shot.

The day was filled with these moments.  Quiet glimpses into the thoughts and minds of the people surrounding me and my camera.  This is my favourite part of the job.  Catching a whisper, a glance shared across the room or a smile from a child when they thought no one was looking.  Please enjoy a few of these shots from my childhood friend's wedding day.
