We met at one of my favourite spots - the Kissing Bridge trail - for this family's session. Little W was turning one and what better way to celebrate than with family photos. Big brother L is starting school in the fall and mom just started back at work after maternity leave, so this family has lots of new adventures ahead. And the session was full of adventure too - I've never had a session interrupted with a volunteer fire call...but we did. The session was a wee bit shorter as a result, but there were still lots of images and it was the perfect length for these little guys.
Jason and Jennifer, thank you for the fun evening with your family. Can't wait to see these hanging on your walls!

Elmira Family Photographer. The Kinsella Family
Laurie and I have known each other for a while - we played volleyball together and see each other once in a while. When she approached me about doing a family session, I was honoured. With 3 busy girls and lots of different personalities, we discussed the best approach prior to our session - knowing full well, that anything can happen at a family portrait session. But I have to say - despite the cool temperatures, the girls were amazing and fun and so easy to photograph. We had such a blast running around. And if you saw my post from earlier this week, they chose a beautiful family wall grouping to go up their staircase.
Laurie and Alex, it really was a pleasure to work with you and help you design your wall. Thank you so much for choosing to work with me! Here are a few of my favourites from our session.

Elmira Family Photographer. Rain, Rain, Go Away
I didn't just get to photograph this family once but twice. We can thank mother nature (and a tornado watch) for causing us to cut our first session short. And we were working on a time frame because some of the family was visiting from beautiful British Columbia. But rain it did, so we met a few evenings later to catch some sunshine and more great photographs.
Humes, not only are you an awesome family, but an easy one to photograph. Thank you so much for the fun evenings. The kids were great - the big kids too. Please enjoy a few of my favourites.

Elmira Family Photographer. Special gift
This family is pretty much awesome. They have come together because of love and I couldn't be prouder to photograph them. I think it's pretty apparent how much fun they have together.
E and D, thank you so much for trusting me to photograph these very important moments for you. I was a pleasure to chase your sweet girl around. Please enjoy a few of my favourites.

Elmira Family Photographer. Growth in every sense of the word
I have the pleasure of photographing this family nearly every year and I love working with them. They bring their best to every session and it makes me happy to have that level of commitment from them. Some people would say that it's only photographs - but they realize that we're doing more than capturing the likeness of their children. We are capturing their true selves - their spunky, independent nature, their fun relationship with dad, their gravitation towards mom at this age, and their beautiful smiley faces. We don't say cheese in my world - we actually laugh.
Jeremy and Kelly, Thank you for bringing me into your world and for allowing me to capture your kids - Jamie's reserved cuteness and Kate's complete takeover of her world. It makes me happy to see your family displayed on the walls of your home and the way you value it as art - they truly are pieces of art in every sense of the word. Please enjoy a few of my favourites from our session.

Elmira Children's Photographer. "The kids had so much fun!"
These kids are AWESOME! We had so much fun at our Kissing Bridge Trail session in Elmira. The weather was perfect (which was amazing considering the temperature these days), the light was ideal and the kiddos were ready for fun. I was over the moon when mom told me the next day (after bumping into her at school) that the kids had such a great time and loved getting their photos taken. Plus at the session, Mom and
Dad were patient and let the kids lead the session. It made it
oh-so-wonderful! I love when parents step back a bit, in fact I
recommend it. The session runs so much smoother!
Sheri and Brian, Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your Thanksgiving and for not laughing at my bad jokes, silly noises and toilet humor - It makes the kids laugh and I'm happy to make a fool of myself for "the shot". Can't wait to see the canvas up on your wall! Please enjoy a few of my faves from the session.

Elmira Children's Photography - Why a pro is important
I've been in the business of photography a long time and love to learn about my clients and their plans for the images I create for them. As I've mentioned I try to steer people away from "just the digital files" to doing more with the beautiful photographs of their family and children - in a stage of life that will never be again. The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) posted a blog in 2010 about why investing in a professional photographer is so important and why it costs more. You can check out more from that post here: http://www.napcp.com/blog.php/2010/05/18/what-type-of-investment-should-i-expect-in-my-session-and-portraits/

Elmira Children's Photographer - Sunset on the Trail
This is the final installment of my Kissing bridge trail sunset series for girls. M was perfect! She was shy and coy and completely adorable. And lucky for her she got to stay up past her bedtime for the session. I photographed M once before when she was about 3 years old and it was lovely to see her and her mom again.
Michele, thank you for taking the time to bring M. She was fantastic and her images turned out amazing.

J's Sunset Series - Elmira Children's Photographer
I had the pleasure to photograph J as part of my Kissing Bridge Trail sunset series for girls! We met along the trail in Elmira. It was amazing to see her again - I've known her since she was 15 months old and she has turned into a beautiful young woman. And this girl has some awesome skills! -she's a gymnast (among other things) and it was fun to incorporate that into our session.
Maria, thank you so much for bringing her and doing her hair. It was beautiful and exactly what I hoped for. She was truly awesome! Please enjoy a few of my faves from our session!

Elmira Children's Photographer - Beautiful Sunset Session
I put together this shoot in Elmira along the Kissing Bridge Trail and A was perfect. So glad it worked out the way it did! Her awesome full bodied hair (I wish I had hair like that), her beautiful smile and her amazing personality. I had so much fun with her - it was one of my fave sessions!
Thanks A, for coming and making this so much fun! And Kelly, thanks for taking the time to bring her (and her amazing hair) out for this session!
Please enjoy a few of my favourites.
